Postoperative complaints

One of the first symptoms of skin damage after aesthetic medicine treatments may be redness caused by its irritation, swelling or bruising. It happens that after some treatments the skin is drawn off and the patient feels a burning sensation, sometimes even unpleasant pain. What cosmetics should you choose for care after?

You can get the right cosmetic before the treatment. In most cases, post-treatment care requires the use of a delicate dermocosmetic. It should have anti-inflammatory properties and support the regeneration of irritated skin, a product that will soothe redness and soften the skin (taut and dry more irritating and burning). It should also reduce itching. Make sure that the preparation does not cause discoloration. Cosmetic preparations designed for use after cosmetic procedures are hypoallergenic, and the active substances contained in them reduce the hyperactivity of the nerve fibers of the skin, soothe and calm it, minimizing discomfort caused by stinging, burning or pulling.

What ingredients should a dermocosmetic contain?

  • soothing panthenol,
  • thermal water, which has toning properties,
  • nutritional glycerin,
  • allantoin accelerating healing,
  • antibacterial minerals, e.g. copper, zinc,
  • hyaluronic acid supporting water retention in the epidermis,
  • karite butter, which moisturizes and nourishes,
  • regenerating sulfur compounds.

Recommended dermocosmetics after treatments:

  • LA ROCHE-POSAY Cicaplast Baume B5. Soothing regenerating balm 100ml

A preparation for the regeneration of the epidermis that acts as a plaster to accelerate the healing of irritated, chapped skin or skin after minor dermatological treatments. Strongly nourishing texture, non-greasy end result, no white streaks. It fights burning, gives an immediate dressing effect. The formula contains panthenol, madecassoside, shea butter, glycerin, copper, zinc and a manganese mineral complex to stimulate the production of new cells and provide antibacterial protection.

  • AVENE Cicalfate Post-Acte. Regenerating emulsion after treatments, 40 ml

A light emulsion for use immediately after dermatological treatments (e.g. peelings, lasers, microdermabrasion) and in the skin regeneration process. It soothes irritation and redness of the outer layers of the skin. It includes, among others Avene thermal water and highly regenerating sucralfate. Due to the combination of copper sulphate and zinc sulphate, it reduces the risk of bacterial growth. The emulsion contains a green pigment which is invisible after application but camouflages redness.

  • URIAGE Bariederm Cica. Regenerating cream, 40 ml

S.O.S. cream regenerating for irritated and damaged skin, e.g. after dermatological treatments. The patented GF-Repair complex stimulates the repair mechanisms in the skin, and the Poly-2P (Uriage Patent) complex creates a non-occlusive protective layer and regenerates the deeper layers of the epidermis. The copper and zinc contained in the cream are antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, and D-Panthenol enriched with Uriage Thermal Water perfectly moisturizes and soothes irritated skin.

It is also worth using soothing thermal water in a spray and spraying it on the skin irritated after the treatment.

What can you achieve by properly caring for your skin?

  • faster healing and renewal of the epidermis,
  • prevention of scarring,
  • reduction of inflammation,
  • reduction of swelling and its faster absorption,
  • more effective distribution of active ingredients,
  • prevention of discoloration.

Remember that the skin is more prone to irritation for a while.

Avoid sunbathing for a few days after the treatment. If you need to go out in the sun, apply a sunscreen with a high factor (above 30) to your skin.

Do not enter the sauna or the cryochamber.

Avoid chlorinated water. Do not scratch the wounds or scratch the scabs, as there is a risk of infection. It is also not allowed to scratch the itchy skin. If we are owners of pets, it is worth not to pet them or hug them until the skin heals - otherwise the consequence may be worse healing or infection.

Care products should be used in the areas subjected to the treatment at least twice a day - in the morning and in the evening - gently massaging until the cream is completely absorbed. Beauty treatments play a big role - they properly moisturize the skin, reduce irritation and redness, and soothe the feeling of tightness and itching.
